The Kiln Ministries, a nonprofit organization registered in Tennessee, operates the Great Physician app (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The Great Physician app provides Scripture-based biblical counseling through an AI companion named Barnabas. We take the privacy and sensitivity of your personal and spiritual information seriously.
When you use the App, the messages you send and receive are stored in our secure database. This includes your responses to intake questions and all subsequent counseling conversations. This data is used to provide continuity within your session and to improve the quality of the App's counseling responses.
The App assigns an anonymous session ID to each counseling session. We do not currently require you to create an account or provide your name or email address to use the App.
We may collect standard technical data such as device type, operating system version, and app usage patterns. This data is used solely for maintaining and improving the App and is not linked to your conversation content.

Authorized staff and volunteers of The Kiln Ministries may review conversation sessions for the purpose of pastoral care, quality assurance, and counselor training. This access is limited to ministry personnel who are bound by confidentiality expectations consistent with biblical counseling ethics.
Please be aware that this App does not provide the legal protections of licensed professional counseling (such as therapist-client privilege). If you require legally protected counseling, please seek a licensed professional counselor or pastor.
If our system detects language suggesting that you may be in crisis or in danger of harming yourself or others, the App will direct you to emergency resources. In such cases, session data may be reviewed by ministry staff to ensure your safety.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We have selected these services based on their security standards and do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes beyond what is necessary to operate the App.
Conversation data is retained for a period of time necessary for pastoral oversight and quality assurance. You may request deletion of your session data by contacting us at the address below. We will honor deletion requests within 30 days.
The Great Physician app is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted database storage and restricted access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
